BIG SCARE
We had a big scare a week ago tomorrow. We were out for the evening. And after a bit of fun together we headed home and off to bed. About an hour after we got to bed we got a phone call from Ray, Mom's husband and said the squad was taking her to the hospital. When we got there her room was full of people, Doctor Randy (a client of Glens from Way back when I first got here)and a whole mess of Nurses. After a bit we found out that Mom had had a heart attack. We called Tammy my sister-in-law and then we waited. And we waited. Or it seemed like we waited, but all told we got to the hospital within minutes of Mom and she was in there within a half an hour of the onset of her attack. Within an hour they had her in surgery to put in a stent. But those were the longest and shortest hours of our lives. Mom is a born again Christian who loves the lord and serves him faithfully, and at times like this I was grateful she was. Tammy got to the hospital at about 2:45 a.m. and mom was out of surgery by 3:30. So we settled in and waited until we could see her. At 6:30 we were aloud in and she was sleeping but she had very little color in her face and she was still in obvious pain but not the kind of pain she was in hours earlier. Over the next three days she made steady improvement and came home on day three. Like I said she's home now recovering and champing at the bit. She thinks she can still do all she did before. Mom loves her salt and this is something she will have to get used to not having as she is now on a "salt free diet." Doctor's, orders no lifting hands above the heart, no bending over for now. Or at least for the near future but she's not liking it. But she'll be fine and "Praise God she is recovering" Glen would not be able to handle her loss. He was OK until we got home then he broke down. Not many people believe it but Mom Barnett-Thornberg is the heart of this family. And we will all be lost without and we will lose her someday. But not this day. Thank You Jesus for your Blessings.
