Exodus

This past Sunday Pastor Dave spoke on Exodus chapter 19. he talked about the Israelites being set free. And the blessings God gave them in the wilderness. At the end of his sermon he paraphrased the Ten Commandments. Which was pretty neat. They are in chapter 20 of Exodus. But what caught my attention was the commandment on "Covet." It say Thous shall not covet. And of course I realized that covet means not to want something someone else has. And it that still small voice that God has he said. "Be satisfied" I thought be satisfied??? then he said. I have given you much, be satisfied with what I have given you. At it hit me. I'm always looking at Decorating Magazines and wanting that designer home, you know the ones I mean. Where everything is just right. But to desire that stuff is to covet. Especially if that stands in the way of us serving God. WOW! Be satisfied. That puts a whole new meaning on "Covet" for me. Be satisfied.
