THE GREATEST MAN I EVER KNEW

The song by Reba McEntire describes this man. The greatest man I ever knew, Pastor Jesse Rose. He was my Pastor for over thirty years. A very wise man of God. AKA Jesse Rose man of God the real me. He taught us that we don't live by how we feel. because feeling are fleeting. He taught us to live by God. This wonderful man loved everyone. No matter what he accepted you for who you were. He wasn't afraid to tell you that you need to straighten up either. He loved to step on toes. But over the years his teaching of God's words brought man to Jesus. I met Pastor Rose and his beautiful wife back in 1973 I was attending prayer meetings at church lead by Sis Boggs. I met him through Carol Magers whom I met through my nieces who attended Carols Good News Club. And that started a lifelong friendship. Tonight I got the joyous news that he graduated to heaven. He had been very sick these last few years but he never let that get him down. if asked How he was doing he always said Fine! even after having surgeries he was fine. He will be greatly missed. not only by his family, his wife daughter Norma and grandsons and great but by every person who had ever sat under his teaching. He was a true man of God. We'll all miss you Pastor but March around that Thrown one time for me.
