INDEPENDENCE DAY

Independence Day has come and gone. The 4th of July, this great nations birthday. But does the American people remember why we truly celebrate this day. Some may like our veterans and the families of our fallen heroes do, but does the average American really understand what its all about. Its not about the picnic or that it's a day off from work. It's not just about fireworks and "Red, White and Boom!"
Independence Day is about "FREEDOM". Freedom to go where we want without fear, Freedom to read, or watch what we want again with out fear. But mostly it is about the freedom to worship God without being told how to worship Him.
Our forefathers left the nation of their birth to come to this new land that had no comforts of civilization like they had at home to start over. Because they were being punished for believing in something different then their KING. They had to hide their Bibles because the King decreed only his Bible was the translation to be used, only his form of worship was allowed. So they gave up everything to be able to worship as they pleased. But the King and his LAWS followed them here and so did the TAXES and injustices. So we rebelled and fought and won our freedom from those laws and injustices. Now in 2010 we see those injustices happening here again. Today I heard someone say we have no freedoms anymore. That this nation is no longer free. And they used the statement that our government is taking away their disability payments. OK say they do, but I have to ask WHY? Why take away disability payments, and I'll say because Americans have become LAZY, I see it everyday. "I've filed for disability because I hurt my back, or because I ate to much and became to fat to work or because I have been label with a mental disease." That is why this Nation is failing, people don't want to work anymore they want someone else to do it for them. But our forefathers, and fallen heroes fought for that persons freedom, so what, you can no longer do manual labor, you have a mind and you can learn a new trade, so go to school and learn something. That is what freedom is for. Free to go and improve to change and explore not to live off someone else's labors. Yes we will always have "POOR" around us for what ever reason. But we don't have to stay "POOR" because we have the Freedom to choose to change, many nations don't have that choice. We fought and won our FREEDOM by good old hard work and determination. No Freedom isn't free, it's paid for by men and woman who down thru the years who gave their lives so we can "Pray the way we want to, to party til dawn or fish everyday for the rest of your life at someone else's expense." Independence Day is this nations birthday the day we celebrate our freedom from oppression.
