WHY DO THE COACHES KIDS ALWAYS MAKE THE TEAM?

Today the sermon was about families. In general it about teaching our kids about God. Duet 6:5-9 was read. It talks about how God told the children of Israel to keep the word of God before their children constantly. He knew that by coming into a strange land they would be tempted by the inhabitants of that land to pick up there habits and ways and so he cautioned the leaders to diligently teach there children the word of God. Bro Orr also said we as parents let others teach our kids the "worldly ways, That children today spend more time away from home or with the "TV, MP3 players and videos then with the family. We have fast foods, sports games and many other things to distract us from talking about God. He said that we are on the verge of loosing a whole generation to the world. That there are less and less families in church today. We tend to leave the teaching of our kids today to the TV, teachers at school and to videos and to the world at large. He said we should make the time to teach our children about God as it says in Duet 6. He also quoted Duet 8:11 that we should "Beware" That there are consequences for not teaching them. And we are seeing that every day in the news, shootings, suicides, rapes. We see it in the form of addictions to drugs, porn and other vises. And I thought, WOW! how true. A whole generation is being lost and we are letting it happen. By my way of thinking the baby boomers are busy with "worldly life" and have forgotten the "spiritual life" that we need. It's never to late to talk to our kids about God, even adults can find him as savior and live a redeemed saved life. Its a new year. I'll end with this "AS FOR ME AND MY HOUSE WE WILL SERVE THE LORD.
