I read an article today on "Life Expectancy", in certain counties in the USA and how it is dropping. They aren't sure what is causing this because these counties are next to ones where life expectancy is increasing. They think it may be because of high rates of obesity, smoking and other preventable health problems.
Well to my way of thinking it might very well be because of the above mentions items. But preventable health problems are on the rise. Why because of the lack of health care in smaller communities. All your bigger cities have "Health Clinics', but smaller rural areas can't afford clinics and being poor its harder for folks to get to the bigger cities to get to the clinics to be seen. Makes sense. Or how about druggies get seen before ailing older folks, I could go on and on. Our society has become a bleeding heart society in that we want to help the poor but they don't want to dirty their hands. They have programs out there but many don't know how to access them, or are limited in that they are not computer savvy or just don't have access to a computer.
We are in the middle of an economic downtrend in other words a depression. Many are out of work for many reason one being automation another being the closing of many manufacturing plants that either lost profitability or an overseas company does it cheaper. Thus no money poorer people, no transportation so there is the answer to the problem We will always has the poor among us no matter what, and we can't meet all the peoples needs. Someone has to help those out who can't help themselves.
